Felt Workshops with Wendy Bailye: Be Inspired!

September 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th (Thursday till Sunday) 2010.

Continuing, a great series of interesting and informative feltmaking workshops, Wendy will be traveling from Brisbane to conduct four special classes in September at Beautiful Silks ,teaching you to make your own gorgeous homewares, body wear and accessories.

Thursday 2nd September - Small Framed Art. $ 132.00 plus materials fee of $50.00 (which needs to be put into an envelope with your name on it, and brought in cash to the workshop,and handed in when you arrive, thanks) .Booking code WB08

Experiment with colours and textures and dimension on a small scale. Create textured small felted masterpieces for framing and card making or embroidering on.
Learn techniques for framing and displaying your textile artworks. You will make approximately 4 small pieces of felt and a frame will be provided for one piece. This is a very gentle class suitable for people who don’t have stamina/strength for felting large pieces.
Materials fee $50 (which must be in cash in a named envelope passed in at the beginning of the workshop) includes a wide variety of hand dyed silks, wools, fabrics , fibres and soap and includes one timber frame ,framing tape and mat board.Materials fee must be in cash in a named envelope and given in at the office in the beginning of the workshop. (if you are doing multiple workshops each day must be in a separate envelope)

A piece of stiff tulle net(Spotlight) 50cm x50cm
Two old towels
Two old plastic grocery bags
Sharp scissors
One old icecream container or similar (to hold soapy water)

Friday 3rd September- Textured Handbag. $ 132.00 plus materials fee of $40.00 (which needs to be put into an envelope with your name on it, and brought in cash to the workshop,and handed in when you arrive, thanks)

Learn to use a template and make a divine exquisitely textured handbag in tribal colours using wool and silk and cotton fabrics .Learn textural techniques that will amaze you. Create your own original felted design. Choice of black or chocolate background colour.

Materials fee $40 (which must be in cash in a named envelope passed in at the beginning of the workshop) includes a wide variety of hand dyed silks, wools, fabrics , fibres and soap and includes template material. Booking Code WB09

Saturday 4th September- Nuno Spring scarves x 3! COST $165.00 for the day includes 3 scarves plus materials fee of $30.00 (which needs to be put into an envelope with your name on it, and brought in cash to the workshop,and handed in when you arrive, thanks)....The workshop fee includes 3 scarves. - one tissue silk, one cotton gauze, one in paj! Make three wonderful light scarves to welcome Spring. A variety of techniques will be taught and a variety of different textured base fabrics will be available for your creative use and embellishments.

One scarf will be made white on white, with the possibility to dye your finished piece at the end of the day.

Sunday September 5th 2010 Felted Jewellery Booking code WB11

Decorative felt for your body! Adorn yourself and your feltwork ...with beautiful bangles...bobbles, flowers and bows. Learn to make funky ropes, slices and balls and make attractive jewellery from them. Feel free to bring your own extra findings and beads and baubles if you have them at home as well - not essential but you may have special treasures you want to use up!

Cost of this workshops - $132.00 plus Material fee $40 (which must be in cash in a named envelope passed in at the beginning of the workshop) includes all necessary jewellery findings and a selection of beads.
