WEFT felt - Weft is old English word means 'that which is woven'. It also means ?the threads which run across from side to side in weaving. Weaving is an integral element of the 2D and 3D felt or nuno-felt which the participants will learn to make in this workshop.

Items participants may make using this technique effectively could include; garments, head-wear, ornamental accessories, blankets, throws, hangings, lampshades, book covers, vessels and more.

Participants will learn the following techniques and more in the class;

a) how to cut zigzag (or wavy) strips and to weave those strips several ways and how to project the part of the zigzag strip (see images above for examples) for creating a more interesting and more tactile surface.

b) how to weave strips of pre-felts, pre-nuno-felts, or pre-felts and pre-nuno-felts, interestingly as well as how to weave the section or sections of the base (e.g. images above) - which can be a piece of pre-felt or pre-nuno-felt or already felted-piece.

c) to create kind of a lacy felt piece - gaps between the woven strips - and to change angles of the weaving.

d) to weave strips of pre-felt in the easy-to felt fabric and project some ends of the strips.
